Are you an aspiring filmmaker? Get involved!

Create Jobs - powered by A New Direction - is the London employability programme kicking off a six-week content production course in September with a series of talks, workshops and masterclasses in partnership with THE FACE.

When it comes to work, do you ever feel like you can’t catch a break? Churning out CV after CV, tweaking those cover letters and still, radio silence? We’ve all been there. Fortunately, Create Jobs is just one of the stellar institutions founded to break down workplace elitism and help give young people the head start they need to secure their dream career.

Their mission is fourfold. One: to support people regardless of their grades, qualifications or backgrounds. Two: to help encourage a more inclusive workplace culture. Three: to create lasting change when it comes to inclusion and diversity. Four: to ensure everyone is paid the London Living Wage, or more!

Now, Create Jobs is ready to enlist a fresh batch of aspiring creatives to take part in the latest iteration of Creativity Works: Content Production – a six-week experiential course designed to give 18 – 24-year-olds from underrepresented backgrounds a 360 degree crash course in visual media.

With the support of leading industry brands including THE FACE, Untold Studios, Stink Films & Stink Studios, trainees will learn how to shoot, edit, pitch ideas, master sound production and manage budgets. To kick off the course, every participant will be given a creative brief – a question set by THE FACE – to answer in the shape of a 90-second film which they will prep, shoot and edit themselves. Creativity Works has birthed the success stories of thousands of young creatives across film, events production, fashion, photography, design, curation to name a few and is continuing to lead the change within the film and creative sectors by securing over 600 paid roles to date. Epic.

The 50 successful applicants will also gain further experience via workshops, masterclasses and talks spanning TV, film, music and advertising, led by industry experts to enhance their future employment prospects.

Does this sound right up your street? Well, what are you waiting for? Applications close at 6pm on 16th August. Click here to get involved.

Creativity Works is Mayor’s Fund for London programme supported by the Citi Foundation and delivered by Create Jobs at A New Direction. From June to September 2021, Stride will also be supporting the programme
