Rated by The Face: a weekly playlist

Featuring slinky Afrobeats from Wizkid, a toxic relationship anthem from Claudia Valentina and the new band from Jay Som and Chastity Belt’s Annie Truscott.

We’re in a crisis, but great music keeps coming out.

To keep up with it all, check out this playlist which we lovingly update every week. Read about last week’s additions here.

Wizkid – No Stress

A slinky anthem from Wizkid’s excellent new album Made in Lagos, which he dropped last Friday after initially postponing it to respect the #EndSARS movement.

Chucky73 – Zili ft. Fetti031 & Myke Towers

Sie7etr3 co-frontman Chucky73 has dropped his debut album De Chamaquito Siempre Cabezu, rounding off an upward trajectory which has seen the Bronx-based crew develop their own distinctive blend of Latin trap and drill. Testament to their hype, Zili enlists Myke Towers – the major Puerto Rican rapper who’s worked with the likes of Cardi B and Bad Bunny.

Ariana Grande – 34+35

Just gimme them babies,” Ariana demands. One of the horny highlights from her new album Positions.

Claudia Valentina – 4:15

Are you seeing someone who you know is bad news, despite your better judgement? 4:15 – the lead track from Claudia Valentina’s debut EP – might be your anthem. It’s a bit of a fucked up love story about that one guy that you just can’t shake,” the pop newcomer said of the single. It’s anthem for anyone familiar with those late night u up’ texts.”

Routine – Cady Road

Melina Duterte, known for her genius indie rock records as Jay Som, teamed up with Chastity Belt bassist Annie Truscott for their new band, Routine. There’s an EP on the way, recorded during quarantine in Joshua Tree. Can’t wait to hear more.
