Rated by The Face: a weekly playlist

Featuring the return of Kendrick and Rocky, soothing sounds from George Riley and Eartheater plus a Drake verse that intimidated Jack Harlow.

The flow of new music is relentless. Want to keep up with the best stuff? Check out this playlist, which we lovingly update every week.

Kendrick Lamar – The Heart Part 5

K.Dot’s back and there’s so much to process here. Roll on Friday 13th.

Naira Marley – O’Dun ft. Zinoleesky

The one-of-a-kind Nigerian hitmaker drops the breezy, bouncy lead single from his debut album God’s Timings The Best.

A$AP Rocky – D.M.B.

There’s something subtly psychedelic about Flacko’s ghetto love tale”.

Knucks – Die Hard. ft Stormzy

There are alternative UK rap fans out there who argue that Knucks is one of the best in the scene. Stormzy recognises the talent.

IDK – Breathe

IDK has just dropped an eight track project entirely produced by the always-excellent Kaytranada. The sound is mostly jagged disco rap, but on Breathe the duo zone out into blissful territory.

Eartheater – Mitosis

Sega Bodega teams up with the experimental musician and burgeoning fashion icon, providing glacial synths reminiscent of Eartheater’s 2019 album Trinity.

George Riley – Jealousy

We loved George Riley on Anz’s 2021 late summer dancefloor banger You Could Be. The London singer is in a more gentle mode on Jealousy, with tranquil production courtesy of Vegyn.

Jack Harlow – Churchill Downs ft. Drake

Drake gave Jack a verse so good that he had to add new bars to his own.
