Nine 8 Collective

Nine 8 are a DIY arts collective comprising an eclectic mix of young musicians, producers, and designers. The group was co-founded by queer rapper Lava La Rue, singer Biig Piig and producer Mac Wetha who met in a music class as teenagers. Later on, La Rue linked up with Nayana Iz after a Grenfell fundraiser, followed by rappers Bone Slim, LorenzoRSV and Nige aka DJ Sukha. Since the group’s inception in 2014, they have coordinated high-profile collaborations with Tate Modern, London Fashion Week, Boiler Room, Converse and Red Bull. Nayana Iz credits their collective passion as the secret to their rising success.
