Sabrina Fuentes’ ultimate hangover cure? “Opening your lymph nodes”, obviously
Daily Beauty Rituals: The Pretty Sick frontwoman tells us her all her secrets, including a detailed breakdown of all the perfumes she wears. What’s the point in all that make-up if you don't smell good?
The first thing I eat or drink when I wake up is…
Lately it’s been kimchi, sauerkraut, or kefir. And a big glass of water and a hot green tea :)
My morning skincare regime looks like…
Sunscreen.
The soundtrack to my morning routine is…
Silence. I am not a morning person.
My go-to beauty hack for when I’ve pulled an all-nighter is…
Opening my lymph nodes and jumping up and down and stretching; a long hot shower that ends with 60 seconds of freezing cold water; moisturising A LOT; drinking a fuck ton of water with electrolytes.
The product I’ll reach for when I’ve got a pimple is…
Save Face Spot Solution by May Botanicals.
My favourite brand of sunscreen is…
Any brand will do as long as its 30 SPF or higher.
My holy grail skincare product is…
Sunscreen, lol.
My best kept beauty secret is…
This Korean cool toned contour powder i got at Olive Young in Seoul on tour. The brand name wore off in my make-up bag so unfortunately it have to will stay a secret 🥲 maybe someone reading this can identify it for me…
My favourite feature is…
My snout.
Because…
It’s piggy 🐽🐖🐷
My first beauty-related memory is…
Hating my jawline and tightlining my waterline with black eyeliner when I was like eight.
The last life-changing product I discovered was…
YSL concealer and Kim Chi black lipstick from CVS.
The best tactic for getting rid of stubborn waterproof mascara is…
Just put more on.
I keep my lips moisturised with…
Sun Bum chapstick.
The bougiest beauty product I own is…
I honestly don’t know. I’m not a frequent shopper or big spender so I tend to only buy the essentials and invest in products that I know will work – though tried and tested skin care is one thing I dont mind splurging on.
My favourite budget find is…
Wet N Wild lipsticks and NYX lip liner. I also miss the NYX glitter rollerball things they had when I was in high school, please bring those back!
The face mask that never lets me down is…
Kelp! Seaweed serum sheet mask by May Botanicals and Masque Biosensible by Biologique Recherche.
My signature scent is…
I don’t have one but here’s my current favourite, one I’ve been wearing for years, and one I made myself:
Retrospect by Merit
My new favourite as of this week – I just got it and I’m obsessed. Goes on extremely pear smelling, then settles to jasmine and eventually a powdery new fur coat smell. It smells like a new mink fur coat with silk lining. The pear’s fruitiness fades but the sweetness stays and the floral note of the jasmine stays evenly in the background, without overpowering the muskiness. I love.
Eau du Lierre by Diptyque
A classic to me. I use it to layer and brighten up other perfumes a lot. Smells like a secret garden behind castle walls in the beginning of spring, super grassy and green like ivy and vegetable plants and early morning dew drops. Freshly cut flower stems or early morning in a foggy field in Ireland.
Headliner by me lol
I made this myself at Olfactory in NYC as a Christmas gift from my sister in the winter. It’s a bit sweet but it smells great in the winter on fur and silk and pashmina scarves and it’s absolutely essential. You smoke lots of cigarettes while you’re wearing it because it makes the whole scent. It’s woody, ambery and peppery but stays flirty and playful with French and Indian jasmine and soft lily. Ideal for a jazz bar or anything dark and smokey. If you love perfume I’d recommend going to Olfactory, it was really fun making one for myself. I’d love to release a Pretty Sick scent one day.
TikTok made me buy it…
I’ve never bought anything from TikTok but I bought an awful straightener brush thing that didn’t work off Temu once.
My top tips for having a good hair day are…
Leave in conditioner from Tokyo, K18 mask, and shine spray for my damaged ends.
My evening skincare routine looks like…
Honestly I sleep in my make-up most of the time because I’m lazy but if I have energy I wash my face, use night cream or retinol, and eye cream.
The very last product I apply before going to sleep is…
Eye cream.
The secret to a good night’s kip is…
250mg of magnesium, a glass of red wine, and a blackout eye mask 💋
