VTSS on her rave-proof skincare regime

Daily Beauty Rituals: The DJ/producer gives us a rundown of her favourite budget beauty finds, and some tips on keeping your skin glowing and dancefloor ready.

It’s been a rollercoaster few years for VTSS, aka Martyna Maja, one of the most stylish DJ/producers on the club scene.

On the search for fresh sounds, she moved from Berlin to London, released her thrill-seeking EP Circulus Vitiosus (which saw Maja, who was born in Warsaw, put her voice on record for the first time) and has established herself as a versatile artist unafraid of operating outside of the blistering techno she became renowned for over the last decade. Now, Maja’s dropping industrial club slammers as well as pop-leaning tracks like her own single Make You Scream, which was recently reworked by reggaeton artist Isabella Lovestory and former Bala Club producer Kamixlo.

Transcending Berlin’s techno scene ticked firmly off her list, Maja has been busy gearing up to clubs and festivals all around the world, from Ibiza’s DC10 to Liverpool’s One In The Woods festival, via Amsterdam’s Dekmantel and Budapest’s Sziget – often decked out in super-hot stage gear by Ottolinger, Courrèges and KNWLS.

So, with all that jetting around from one dancefloor to the next, how does she keep her skin glowing-but-not-sweaty, and hair tousled-but-never-dishevelled? It’s a delicate balancing act, but Maja has a few tricks up her sleeve…

The Inkey List’s hyaluronic acid serum.

My signature scent is…

Since lockdown I’ve been training my hair and not washing it too much, so dry shampoo is my best friend.

A hair product I can’t go without is…

Olaplex 0, 3 and 8.

My evening skincare routine looks like…

Cetaphil foaming cleanser 2% BHA, but not on retinol days. Hyaluronic acid on a wet face after cleansing, then retinol and niacinamide three times a week. On the other days, I’m switching between lactic acid or other AHA’s from The Ordinary. The moisturiser I’m using right now is Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Moisturiser, but that’s when I’m at home and paying attention. Half the time, when I’m travelling, I forget to pack any of that. So sometimes I end up using make-up wipes, hotel soap and whatever I’ve got in my bag.
