Best club night
Founded by 23-year-old Indian-Scottish producer/DJ Rahul.mp3, Scandal Glasgow is the best new party in town. You’ll find go-go dancers and a predominantly LGBTQ crowd going wild to baile funk, bhangra, hip-hop, pop and Jersey club bangers.
Three local DJs to look out for on flyers
DJ Bellarosa, Leahgte and ISO YSO are part of Scotland’s new wave of youth culture.
Local rapper who could blow up
Kickpill is Glagow’s answer to the new underground rap scene. Don’t say we didn’t put you on!
A decent local band
After meeting across Dundee and Glasgow, and in queer group chats, Uninvited are working to be the change they want to see in the male-dominated pop-punk scene.
Legendary artists you need to have listened to
If you haven’t listened to Primal Scream then you’re seriously missing out – and their Screamadelica album is the best place to start. Orange Juice are also a must-listen.
Bar which serves past midnight
Nice N Sleazy on Sauchiehall Street is the perfect spot to wind up because you never know what you’re gonna get. Will it be a Trad Thursday music jam or an infamous Sleazy karaoke night? It’s also open till 3am every day.
Nightlife photographer who want to be snapped by
Spit is documenting the city’s trans and wider queer community.
Beloved takeaway
There’s nothing better than having a Shawarma King to revive yourself – it’s located just under the bridge behind St Enoch’s Centre.
Cafe for the morning after
Urban West has seen one too many of us in our pyjamas, what’s a few more?
Cool shop to buy your outfit
If you miss any pop-ups hosted by Anri x Zaza, iloveyourxes, Lunch Concept or the Vintage Kilo Sale, then you might be better off robbing your mum’s closet.
Shop to get records for your DJ set
Hyperlocal fashion trend
Scotland flags on baby tee’s and kilts (it’s completely unironic).
LGBTQ space
Exhale Group has quickly become the go-to third space for queer BPOC in Glasgow, hosting monthly events across the city for their community.
Coolest local radio station
Radio Buena Vida is one of the best hubs for music in Glasgow. You can eat Spanish tapas-inspired food while watching the shows in the station.
What not to say to a local
“Celtic or Rangers?”
