Pip Millett pops us in her pocket for London Fashion Week

The singer-songwriter and new Timberland ambassador takes us along for the ride, sitting front row at ASAI’s much-anticipated show.

It’s been a hot second since A Sai Tai, the British-Chinese-Vietnamese CSM grad, fired us all up with his spicy, Gaultier-inspired Hot Wok dress. The cult creation for his ASAI label, which went viral in 2019, was worn by Rihanna and caused a stir in the fashion press; but for the next four years, he didn’t show.

Thankfully, he was busy cooking up a storm; the Fashion East alumni returned to the capital earlier this year for his AW23 runway, delivering a sizzler featuring nunchuck bags, sliced-and-diced dresses and – yes – more Hot Wok pieces.

Last night, his SS24 presentation – the special guest slot of Fashion East’s show – served up even more goodness. The main takeaway? Shredding is in; technicoloured fabrics were handcut into tentacular dresses and a decora-style ensemble wove together rings of yarn.

This time, there was also a new accessory on show – Timberland boots – worn by models as they stomped down the runway, including their iconic 6‑Inch boots (celebrating 50 years this year) and pieces from the brand’s Find Your Superpower collection. Fittingly, the campaign’s star and new brand ambassador Pip Millett was also part of the action, getting the best seat in the house.

The Manchester-based singer-songwriter has had a stellar few years, releasing When Everything Is Better, I’ll Let You Know last year to critical acclaim. As well as sharing Timberland’s ethos when it comes to exploring green spaces and honing your creativity, she’s also enviably stylish.

Wouldn’t it be nice, then, to step into Pip’s shoes for a hot second? Your wish is our command. Ahead of the show, we asked Pip to pop us in her pocket, documenting her day from getting ready all the way through to heading backstage at ASAI.
