The rundown on New Balance x 99GINGER’s Paris rave

New Balance and Parisian music collective 99GINGER wined, dined and danced with friends to toast their new collaboration during Paris Fashion Week Men’s. Here’s our rave review of the night.

If you’re in town after dark for Paris Fashion Week Men’s, half the fun is choosing what look to go for – the other half is looking for a place to go. With a scroll-sized list of parties to scroll through, it’s menu anxiety taken to the max. Luckily, we had a motive already prepped thanks to party-throwing collective 99GINGER and New Balance, featuring a banging night out and a meticulously curated dinner – meaning none of that menu anxiety, either. Parfait!

It was thrown in celebration of the new New Balance X 99GINGER 1906R shoe, part of the Boston footwear brand’s series of friends and family” collaborations. Featuring a sleek croc green leather outer and the 1906R’s usual see-you-later-alligator speed, it’s a dream sneaker to snap up.

The night kicked off at Le Singe A Paris, a bistro in the 12th arrondissement, with dinner by 99GINGER’s friend (and Madonna’s past personal chef, no less) Diadié Diombana plus the collective’s very own natural wine made in Ardèche France. The food was typically decadent and rich, just how we like it when in the capitale de la mode. Think sweet buttery scallops, zesty lemon caviar and a peanut tiramisu to tie things up, the perfect pick-me-up for the equally nuts night ahead.

Taking place in new-ish warehouse venue FVTVR located on the river Seine, the motive saw a roster of (excuse our French) chef-de-party from 99GINGER and friends who cooked up a hotpot of dancefloor-filling tunes. On the line up? 99GINGER’s head honcho Kirou Kirou; DJs KCIV and Jael; a live set from Clip; and a big finale from Tiffany Calver and Broodoo Ramses. A coterie of Paris’ most stylish creatives were seen wearing the new 1906Rs inside.

Finishing in the very wee hours, the subwoofers were still going when the birds started tweeting – our watches were scarily close to striking seven by the time we shuffled our way back down the Seine. But it was of course all worth it; raving with 99GINGER and New Balance is basically our raison d’etre. That’s reason for existence” – Duolingo Ed.
