For spritzing away post-summer blues…
Smell that? It’s the whiff of autumn descending – damp pavements, soggy knitwear, decomposing leaves. No, thanks. We’re rewinding the clock with Loewe’s new unisex fragrance Aire Anthesis, which dropped this month as part of the brand’s Botanical Rainbow collection. Not only is it packed with sunny notes of pear, peony, sandalwood, rhubarb and lily of the valley, it’s also “the first in a new generation of scents”, which will all feature the “Loewe Accord” base note inspired by Spanish rockrose. A bit confusing, we know, so here’s that in layman’s terms: it smells of flowers, but not, like, in a grandma way.

For getting rid of stubborn body spots…
Feeling self-conscious about blemishes on your face is bad enough, let alone when you have to deal with them on your body. Enter: Q + A, the skincare brand behind a super-affordable, super-ingredient packed salicylic acid body wash that will sort out any uneven texture, bumpy bits and acne you might be dealing with. At just £6.50, it’s a bargain, and a dupe for La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel Wash, we’ve heard. Less of a mouthful, too, actually.

For taking a hike without leaving the house….
A candlemaker and skincare expert walk into a bar… You can hunt for a punchline in the world’s worst joke book, but you’re probably better off spending your time bagging yourself something nice from Byredo’s collaboration with Susanne Kaufmann. Combining natural skincare with luxury fragrance, the limited edition collection features a super indulgent body oil and roll-on fragrance oil. Both are filled with skin-boosting antioxidants; both smell like you’re walking through an Alpine forest, with juniper berries, jasmine and sweet figs combining to replicate the scent of pine trees. Take a hike to your bathroom and slather it on.

For magic mushrooms without the trip…
Fashion’s been mad for mushrooms for a couple of years now, and it’s about time beauty caught up. Herbar has a few tricks up their sleeve when it comes to adaptogenic-led skincare, which promises to save your face from irritation and unevenness. Not to be confused with the brand’s sell-out face oil, this sweet “Nectar” serum is a proper trip. It harnesses all the best bits from various plants to make your skin as pillowy as a mushroom cap, and is infused with nano hyaluronic acid, which is so small it penetrates eight – eight! – skin surface layers. We didn’t even know there were that many.

For not smelling like the other girls…
Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 scent has built a cult following over the past year or so, but we’d argue that 724 is better. Launched last year, it’s the type of fragrance that smells expensive (and, to be honest, it is), with gentle floral and musky notes that conjure images of fresh, crisp sheets, rather than giant bouquets of hayfever hazards. Now, that smell has been bottled up again for the brand’s body collection, featuring a hand and body cleansing gel, body lotion, body oil and a hair mist – a 360 range for 24/7 scent.

For masking the smell of pickle breath…
If you weren’t aware that “artisanal oral care” was a thing, neither were we – until Selahatin reared its head, that is. Dreamed up by founder Kristoffer Vural (and backed by Byredo’s co-creator Johan Backe), Selahatin specialises in all things oral, from mouthwash to toothpaste, all of which have been put together with as much thought as a luxe fragrance. It’s bougie stuff, but you can’t put a price on good oral health, can you? Our favourite product: the Of Course I Still Luv You mouth spray. Nothing says I’ll stay with you forever quite like a whiff of verbena, bergamot and cardamom. Pucker up.

For keeping everyone on their toes…
Guess what? GUESS Originals have just launched not one, but three gender-neutral fragrances. Type 1, infused with citrusy bergamot and vetiver, is a perfect daily scent; Type 2, with floral accents of redcurrant and balsam, will see you through to nighttime; and Type 3, with stand-out smoky notes of tobacco and amber wood, is killer for special occasions. Swap them out depending on how you’re feeling throughout the week. All good things come in threes, right?
