beabadoobee gets cinematic for her comeback track All I Did Was Dream Of You

Also on the Rated by THE FACE playlist: Olof Dreijer, Sinn6r, Bassvictim and Power Snatch.

There’s loads of music out there, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up.

Rather than letting the algorithm dictate your music taste, you can listen to Rated by THE FACE – a playlist that’s lovingly curated and updated by our (human) editorial team every week.

Olof Dreijer – Echoed Dafnino

We’ve come to expect great things from Olof Dreijer. The Swedish produced made subversive pop and endlessly intriguing pop as The Knife with his sister Karin, and in the years since, he’s maintained his rep as a reliably adventurous DJ on the credible end of the European club circuit, also knocking out wonky remixes for the likes of Björk & Rosalía and Röyksopp & Robyn. On Echoed Dafnino – the first single from his debut album Loud Bloom, which is arriving in May via George Daniel’s Dh2 imprint – Dreijer dishes out crisp hi-hats, also playing around with a slippery, metallic synth texture while Sudanese singer MaMan channels emotion from somewhere deep from within his soul. So far, so Olof. DR

Bassvictim – Sometimes I believe in God (sometimes I believe in Me)

Although Bassvictim rose to notoriety with their basspunk’ sound – a kind of euphoric, smudged and ketamised interpretation of electroclash – they incorporated more wholesome, folky elements for their Forever album, which was possibly one of best records of 2025. For their new ? EP, the London-based duo of Maria Manow and Ike Clatemen returned to the Norway studio where they conjured up magic for Forever. Sometimes I believe… captures the sensation of divinity at the peak of a bender. It all sounds a bit scuzzy, but there’s some warmth in there too. DR

beabadoobee – All I Did Was Dream Of You ft. The Marías

I’ve often heard that we’ve lost the art of the music video” but every so often an artist puts one out that seems to kick against that trend. Marking her first release in two years, Beabadoobee is back with longtime mutual admirer, María Zardoya. Over a heavy bed of alt-rock guitars, Bea pleads with a lover, Stay or just leave me be” before a breathy interlude from María explores the darker side of yearning. The accompanying music video – shot by Jake Erland and Lithuanian director, ABOVEGROUND – features a snowy Vilnius with Bea crunching over a frozen lake and finding herself inside a butcher’s counter at the supermarket. Speaking to a magazine called Dazed, Bea said, My boyfriend and I are fucking obsessed with Yorgos — and [Bugonias] last scene inspired the video.” Dreamy. TL

Sinn6r – Pattern ft. Lancey Foux

Sinn6r’s 2025 album Federal is one of the strongest projects to emerge from the UK Ug scene so far – a ferocious onslaught of bass-battered production, steely flows and quotable bars about out-there outfits and hedonistic misadventures. Recently, Lancey’s been airing some grievances about the scene (IYKYK), but industry politics hasn’t prevented him from clearing this highly-anticipated reunion, which has boosted the buzz around the Federal deluxe just in time for Sinn6r’s sold-out tour. This Is Lorelei Perfect Hand (Power Snatch Version)

This tune, one of the first releases from Hayley Williams as part of her new band Power Snatch (which also features musician Daniel James), is a bit of a tease. That’s because it’s actually a cover of Perfect Hand by This Is Lorelei, the solo project by Water From Your Eyes’ Nate Amos. Confused yet? This song is actually part of a brand new album by This Is Lorelei, which sees friends, peers and collaborators cover all the songs on his acclaimed debut Box for Buddy, Box for Star. Hayley and Daniel’s take on Perfect Hand is a more lofi take on the original and showcases a softer side of Hayley’s voice, which shines against stripped back drums. It’s a charming take on an already charming song – and apparently a collaboration which led to Daniel and Hayley starting Power Snatch in the first place. Thanks for that one, Nate.
