Cheers to a Fcuking good night

There’s a lot of hype around New York indie-dance trio Fcukers right now. In a semi-closed Chinese restaurant, they proved why everyone’s banging on about them.

Fcukers, New York’s hottest new band, threw one hell of a party last weekend. It wasn’t any old knees-up, though, and for good reason: the trio had a debut EP to celebrate. On the relentlessly cool six-tracker Baggy$$, Fcukers blend house and indie-pop with a general flavour of sexy disaffection. It’s an irresistible concoction for any curious kid who might find themselves in the vicinity of the Lower East Side (where else?) on Friday night.

Fcukers didn’t secure any old venue for the occasion, either. They hand-picked the storied, permanently-closed-save-for-special-occasions Chinatown restaurant 88 Palace. Made up of Benny Scharf, who was ripping it on the drums, Jackson Walker Lewis on the keys and bass, and Shanny Wise on vocals, the trio got the room so hyped that, at one point, the entire building shook. Oh, and Avalon Emerson jumped on the decks to close out the night.
