Right now, Haunted Mound are proving the power of the cult fanbase they’ve cultivated over the past six years or so.
The Northern California artists have crafted an intense concoction of witch-house, deep-fried drill and zombified emo rap. They’re preoccupied with horror flicks and the occult, embracing braggadocio with a bleakly nihilistic attitude. They mutate 2010s rap fashion with gothic aesthetics, and at their shows, fans flock to the merch stall to purchase proof of their loyalty to the movement.
Haunted Mound’s members (this month at least) – Sematary, Hackle, Anvil, Buckshot and Ghost Mountain – are packing out venues across the UK and Europe.
Photographer Katie Tang headed to the London show at Kentish Town Forum to capture the action.
