Reliving the golden era of UK pop
Author and pop journo Michael Cragg joins us to discuss the biggest hits and misses from 1996-2006.
Where were you when Wannabe came out in 1996? Or when Girls Aloud were formed on Pop Stars: The Rivals in 2003? Remember Girl Thing? Can you name all members of 5ive?
This week on THE FACE podcast, our Junior Editor – and guest host – TJ Sidhu is joined by music journalist and author Michael Cragg to tuck into his new book, Reach For The Stars, 1996 – 2006: Fame, Fallout and Pop’s Final Party. The book presents an oral history of British pop’s peak, with gossip, anecdotes and tales from the tour bus aplenty, straight from the mouths of Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts, Ritchie Neville from 5ive, Siobhan, Mutya and Keisha from the Sugababes and, er, Louis Walsh.
