As part of the band’s takeover of The Face, we broadcasted cover versions of their songs by Phoebe Bridgers, Rina Sawayama, Clairo, Gracie Abrams, Cavetown, Pales Waves and Beabadoobee.
“I’m just a proper fanboy,” Matty Healy admits in The Face’s new interview.“I’ve always had a good relationship with my fans because I’m like: ‘Bro, I get it. I’m still like that about fucking bands.’”
In celebration of fanboy/girling, we paired Matty up with Stevie Nicks, Brian Eno, Mike Kinsella, Kim Gordon, Conor Oberst and Bobby Gillespie for a series of podcasts to trace how his heroes have influenced his outlook and The 1975’s sound.
And to highlight how The 1975 have inspired a wave of contemporary artists, we reached out to some of their friends and asked them to cover the band’s songs for a ‘Tribute Concert’, broadcasted via our Instagram.
Due to popular demand, you can now watch all those cover versions below.
Phoebe Bridgers – Girls
Pale Waves – Sex
Clairo – Robbers
Cavetown – Medicine
Beabadoobee – Milk
Rina Sawayama (ft. Clarence Clarity) – Love It If We Made It
Gracie Abrams – Somebody Else
