Salute – Saving Flowers ft. Rina Sawayama

Austrian producer Salute and Rina Sawayama make for a dynamic duo. Inspired by old Japanese car adverts they found on YouTube, Saving Flowers is a euphoric club-pop anthem that’s fit to soundtrack some serious pint-sinking this summer. It’s also the first single off Salute’s upcoming album, which features a wide range of guests including Disclosure, Léa Sen andNakamura Minami among them. We’ll cheers to that. JW

Len – HOTnKOLD ft. BXKS

Len and BXKS are two of the most stylish artists in the UK’s burgeoning alt-rap scene. On this slick track from Len’s new project Cobalt: SoMuchMore, the duo unite to sweet talk their lovers over a sensual soundscape of buttery saxophones, breathy vocals and clattering drums. Len’s name for his alien sound? Sexy superstar shit.” DR

Cash Cobain & Bay Swag – Fisherrr (remix) ft. Ice Spice

RIght now, Cash Cobain is at the cutting-edge of contemporary music. The rapper/producer merges sugary synths with palpating Jersey club drums, creating a fresh sound that’s earned him studio time with the likes of Drake and PinkPantheress. This year, Cash and Queens rapper Bay Swag’s ambient drill track Fisherrr sparked TikTok dance craze called the Reemski”. Now rap’s reigning queen Ice Spice has galvanised the track’s virality with a calm but cocky verse. Testament to the buzz around the Fisherrr, the remix leaked and was shared by DJ Akademics, who – like it or not – has a huge influence over the rap internet. DR

Tems – Love Me Jeje

It’s been around five years since Tems was hyped up as Nigeria’s most exciting new artist. Since then, the former Face cover star has taken a graceful, quality over quantity approach to her career, and next month her fans’ patience will be rewarded with her debut album, Born in the Wild. The album’s third single Love Me JeJe – which interpolates Seyi Sodimu’s 97 hit of the same name – is a warm and breezy ode to tender love, complete with a feel-good video in which Tems and her girlfriends hit the karaoke booth. Press play and let the positive vibes immediately lift your spirit. DR

Nilüfer Yanya – Like I Say (I Runaway)

On Nilüfer Yanya’s first release since her excellent 2022 album Painless, 90s influences loom large: especially the twisty, Radiohead-esque guitar riffs, which are gently offset by soothing, slightly subdued vocals. Like I Say (I runaway) is all about how you choose to spend your time,” Yanya says in the press notes. Time is like a currency, every moment. You’re never going to get it back. It’s quite an overwhelming thing to realise.” Leave it to Yanya to make beautifully textured, guitar-led songs that tug on the old heartstrings. JW
