Franasonic channels the energy of South Africa’s counterculture

In Johannesburg, Capetown, Durban and beyond, the Ebumnandini crew is much-loved because they’ve thrown the coolest parties. Core member Francesco Mbele also runs Franasonic – a deliciously retro multimedia project that has inspired bright and brash clothing. The new longsleeve T-shirt design “Black Women Fighting Apartheid Were the First Punks” was inspired by the 1956 Women’s March in Pretoria. 10% of proceeds will be donated to the Sonke Gender Justice organisation.
