Balenciaga’s Le City campaign features the crème de la crème of It girls

Fashion news of the week: Plus, Kiko Kostadinov heads to La La Land, Stone Island makes a film, and Haider Ackermann creates off-piste uniforms for Canada Goose.

Balenciaga has all the cool girls on speed dial. Don’t believe us? The brand’s latest Le City campaign is an unofficial endorsement of fashion’s most elite names. The decidedly cool and aloof bunch includes Paloma Elsesser, Devon Lee Carlson, Justine Skye, Camille Charriere, all captured yapping and getting some #content on the FROW. Styled by stylist Mel Ottenberg and photographer and filmmaker Lauren Greenfield, there’s a video if you want to see the girls in action, too.

We’re looking Camp(ers) sunnies right in the eye

Quirky shoes are something Camper is well-versed in. The squidgy pastel Kobarah heels are cat-nip for fashion editors, and CamperLAB’s pony hair loafers are ubiquitous on TikTok. So, branching out and making more outré accessories is a win-win situ, no? Boasting two styles – a matte silver frame with cut-out inserts, and the other with a plasticine clay finish – these sunglasses will surely be the next item the fashion pack has eyes for.

Kiko Kostadinov gets a warm welcome stateside

Kiko Kostadinov has opened up in LA, marking the brand’s first shop in the States (or store”, as they say over there). Steve Lacy, Opening Ceremony (RIP) founder Humberto Leon and Mykki Blanco attended the launch of the space, which is stationed on Melrose Hill. It has an almost unfinished edge to it courtesy of conceptual designer Ryan Trecartin, the man behind the mood board for the brand’s Tokyo store. It’ll be treated as a concept space showing films and installations.

Go on, have a kiki with Kiko Kostadinov at the LA shop on 725 N Western Ave

Haider Ackermann braves the cold with Canada Goose

Haider Ackermann is a man with his finger in many pies. He’s paused dressing Hollywood heartthrobs in backless suits to take on some hefty new roles, including succeeding Peter Hawkings at Tom Ford, and serving as Canada Goose’s first creative director. Now, the fruits of his labour for the latter have been unveiled. In his debut capsule, Ackermann tapped a Hollywood A‑lister, Ethan Hawke (!) to front a 60 silhouette offering that will live under the label Snow Goose by Canada Goose”. Packed with jackets that riff off of archive styles, it features revamped iterations of the classic shirt jacket and reflective gear for all you late-night cyclists.

Stone Island makes a film about itself

Ever wondered what goes on inside the minds of Stone Island’s employees? Thanks to a new feature-length film Infinite Colours, you can find out. Filmed by Ken-Tonio Yamamoto in Ravarino, Italy, the flick shadows the forward-thinking crew at SI HQ and hones in on the camaraderie that binds them, through a mix of documentary and poetic visual elements”. Not only that, it closely follows the production process from material selection to garment construction, so there’s something for the OG heads, too.

Lanvin’s Paris Fashion Week hiatus is officially over

Roll out the red carpet – Lanvin is officially back on the Paris Fashion Week schedule. Peter Copping, who’s now running the show as creative director, will make his debut in January. The show marks Lanvin’s first in the city since March 2023, when the brand was under Bruno Sialleli’s direction. Copping has quite the CV: a decade-long post at Louis Vuitton and a period working as head of couture at Balenciaga. It’s a show worth keeping an eye on.

Colette’s Sarah Andelman takes over the Art Basel Shop for Miami Beach

The same cultural aesthete that brought you the gone but never forgotten Paris stronghold, Colette – perhaps the world’s first, original concept store – is bringing her retail curation nous to the Art Basel Shop for its third iteration. With everything from fresh garms and goodies through to Xmas-themed skate decks courtesy of artists Kaye Donachie and Sola Olulode, as well as treats from Kim Jones fave Kenny Scharf, it’s going to be major. There’s also a one-off edition of the Art Basel uniforms, designed by GOAT and a TBC artist, which your inner hypebeast absolutely needs. Sounds good, right? Well, Art Basel Shop, or Shop”, as fairgoers like to call it, runs from the 4th to 8th December and is open to all, so get involved.

Celebrate World AIDS Day with Tarabal’s chic, sexy knitwear

Enjoying the leather trousers, inside-out chap vests and zippered crop-tops that Troye Sivan has been knocking around in recently? Well, those custom pieces are by the newly graduated, Diego Tarabal, the young Uruguayan designer behind London-based menswear label Tarabal – a haven for sensual and meticulously finished design.

Now, while his mainline designs are still usually custom jobs – he kitted out Troye for much of the Sweat tour – there are plenty of ways us punters can get involved with the Tarabal universe, not least his collaboration with Knitup, a capsule of hug-print jacquard designs. With a percentage of the profits going towards London charity Positive East, which helps tackle stigma around HIV and AIDS, the collaboration is also a personal ode to Diego’s own experiences. The hug is, of course, a motif that directly addresses stigma.

I’ve been HIV+ for nine years,” Diego says. Growing up in a small country, it’s easy to lack information regarding sexual health. When I moved abroad, I knew I did not want to feel ashamed of my status, so I began being open about it when going on dates.” He adds, I knew I wanted to implement this part of me in my work.”

Ecco Kollektive and Louis Gabriel Nouchi join forces

Burgeoning French designer Louis Gabriel Nouchi is the latest creative to receive the Ecco Kollektive co-sign. Nouchi, who joins the fifth edition of Ecco’s collab line (Bianca Saunders and Natacha Ramsay-Levi have also been inducted into the Ecco Hall of Fame), teased the line during his SS25 collection. Reveal and conceal elements emphasise the sensuality of the collection, while minimalist Derby loafers and buttery soft leather tailored pieces offer elevated everyday garms, with nods to the designer’s signature slit motif.
