Inside Job is back in business, baby. And this time we’re going big on beauty – the gloss, the glamour, the glow, but most importantly, the grit, hard work and determination that goes into the boldest beauty looks. There’s a lot more to it all than first meets the eye.
Go beyond the surface and every finished face is a facade for some properly unglam moments. From studio all-nighters to unpaid shoots, lonely creative experiments to mistaken credits, making it in make-up requires insane stamina and skill. Smokey eyes? Bloodshot ones, more like.
So, we’re peeling back the mask of the beauty industry to highlight the talent behind-the-scenes. The latest Inside Job event brings together four shining stars – Issac Poleon, Mata Marielle, Marina Mansour and Lauren Michelle Pires – to FLANNELS X on 25th October 6:30pm — 9pm, and you’re invited.
A quick refresher: Inside Job is THE FACE’s events series with luxury retailer FLANNELS inviting top-tier creatives to join select industry experts in conversation. Designed to share knowledge and remove barriers to entry within the creative industries, the series is providing a new generation with the tangible advice they need to level up on their own creative journey.
The first event saw Euphoria costume designer Heidi Bivens discuss the art of styling for the big and small screens, joined by celeb stylist Leah Abbott, Senior Trends Editor at Vogue Business Lucy Maguire and hosted by THE FACE’s very own Digital Director Brooke McCord.
Then, for round two, we assembled photographer Gabriel Moses, broadcasting legend Normski and journalist Yemi Abiade with host Irene Agbontaen to explore visual world building in music and mastering the art of storytelling in hip-hop.
Now, we’re looking at make-up, hair and nails with four creatives making the beauty industry a better place. Issac Poleon, who is the go-to hairstylist for FLANNELS and part of its Creative Council, will be bringing his razor-sharp expertise honed through working with the likes of Gucci, Burberry and Valentino.
Joining him is expert and BeautyTok regular Marina Mansour, part of THE FACE’s Beauty Directory and currently serving as the Vice President of Beauty and Wellness at Kyra. Next up: Mata Marielle, just 25-years-old, who has already worked with the likes of Dazed, i‑D, Paper, Vogue and, of course, THE FACE, plus she’s created a range of cruelty-free and diverse skin tone cosmetics.
Completing the lineup is nail artist Lauren Michelle Pires, also part of THE FACE’s Beauty Directory and a literal claw machine for the likes of Off-White and Marc Jacobs. Our host for the night? FACE Digital Director Brooke McCord. Expect hot topics including how to build a portfolio, the best way to get your name out there and glowing-up your personal brand.
So, if hair is what you do, makeup is your bag, or nails are your future passion, sign up for Inside Job now.
