Inside Wrangler’s all-American breakfast

The label behind your favourite cowboy-cut jeans just aired their new campaign at The Breakfast Club with a syrup-soaked experience. Here's the lowdown.

As the weather greys in Old Blighty, it’s getting trickier to hop out of bed. But introduce an all-American breakfast accompanied by an acoustic country band into the equation, and suddenly things don’t seem so bleak.

Here to rescue a rainy weekday and offer a welcome respite from Cool Britannia, legendary denim label Wrangler provided an interlude that would make even the most sleep-deprived and seasonally affected eager to shake off the covers and head to London Bridge. Hosted at The Breakfast Club, Wrangler’s Diner experience transported guests to the American West to see in the AW24 collection.

With Dolly Parton and Lainey Wilson beckoning from the jukebox, the suede-clad band provided the ideal accompaniment for the XL coffees and even more XL milkshakes. As guests licked syrup off their fingers and tried to shake off their butter-induced comas, they weren’t just escaping the soggy streets of London but stepping back into a Yellowstone-inspired fantasia.

Alongside the enormous (not complaining!) portions and acoustic renditions of country classics, Wrangler’s breakfast served up a heavy helping of nostalgia as The Breakfast Club transformed into a time warp that would leave even Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid quaking in their boots.

Wrangler’s new Good Mornings Make for Better Days’ campaign isn’t an ode to early risers but an homage to the classic silhouettes we know and love, revived with playful details for a 2024 take on cowboy chic. Think James Dean if he had to take the tube and was concerned about the cost of living crisis.

Standouts in the new lineup include the fresh take on flares, including Lainey Wilson’s Boot Hugger’ fit, ideal for brunching or riding horses. This silhouette is a cowboy classic with a sharper edge, designed for the city streets or the plains of Wyoming should the mood take you. On the coin pocket, an embroidered LW – a contemporary country and western seal of approval. As for the sherpa-lined coats, these are so warm and fluffy you’ll almost be emotional when Spring starts to rear its ugly head again. Of course, the legendary 13MWZ Original Cowboy Cut’ design takes centre stage, still as relevant as it was when it launched in 1947.

As the last of the fry-ups disappeared and the final guests drifted back into reality, it became clear that you can’t beat a good pair of jeans. Whether you’re sticking with the classics – because a good old jeans-and-white-tee is an unbeatable combo – or spicing things up with an all-over illustrated style, Wrangler’s blend of traditional silhouettes and playful details is perfect for tackling the next frontier or just the morning commute. Until next time, cowgirl.
