It’s never too early to start making plans for summer.
Let’s face it, short of jetting off to Mexico, sometimes the only way to beat the winter blues is to fantasise about the sun, sea and other warm-weather delights. After all, nothing beats the freedom of stepping out on a balmy evening – with saltwater still drying in your hair – dressed in something light and breezy.
As spring starts to beam in, whetting our appetites for the (we hope) sunny months ahead, Maje Paris have launched a collection dripping with ’70s accents, harking back to an era synonymous with long summers and free love. “Being a free spirit is important to me and is one of the reasons why I created Maje,” says brand founder Judith Milgrom. “Be who you want to be, play with your style, and express your personality from day to night.”
In order to capture the essence of this new offering, the brand has teamed up with four rising models who each embody the idea of being a #FREESPIRIT in their own unique way.
Tigerlily Taylor, Ella Rose Richards, Renee Stewart and Molly Moorish Gallagher – the daughters and granddaughters of Queen’s Roger Taylor, Rolling Stone Keith Richards, Rod Stewart and Liam Gallagher respectively – have grown up immersed in music and creativity. Now they’re taking life into their own hands. Shot at their homes by London-based photographer Rodrigo Carmuega, each shared their own take on what being a free spirit means.
For Taylor, art and music are central to her outlook on life, and to her personal style. “A free spirit is someone who doesn’t adhere to trends,” she says. “They are intrigued by all areas of life. I feel the most free when I am painting and when I am near the ocean.”
Meanwhile, Richards’ notion of freedom is connected to a distinct sense of adventure. “I’m happiest when I’m discovering new places, diverse cultures and meeting fascinating people,” she reveals. “To me, being a free spirit means being able to explore the world!”
See you at the airport, girls!
