And, just like that, VCTV is officially off air. For one hour only on Wednesday evening, pre-loved luxury platform Vestiaire Collective and THE FACE’s shopping-meets-gameshow TikTok LIVE experience broadcast from London in retrofuturistic telly style: a Generation Z Game, if you will.
As soon as the big red live button was pressed, we were introduced to our host Emma Winder – aka “ur local grandma” – decked out in double Burberry, a ruched Balmain shirt and Gucci loafers, all available on VC. Before her were three items lifted from her wishlist: a show-stopping Balmain halter dress, a pair of violet Amina Muaddi mules and a gold heart-shaped YSL handbag for some fashionably-late V Day vibes. Introducing the quiz rules, giving the Wheel of Fortune a test spin and shouting out the set designer, Emma kicked-off a series of fashion realted pop quiz questions (the first of which was fitting: Which decade was Burberry’s signature Nova Check introduced?) – and the organised-ish chaos began.
To show off some of Vestiaire Collective best luxury secondhand bits, three special guests beamed in from their bedrooms to talk through a few of their favourite pieces. First up was content queen and stylist Tiffanie Alice, showing off a “main event” Blumarine gold leather bag (under a hunna!), a pair of studded Golden Goose boots made to “match with a girly dress” and a vintage Gucci watch.
Then, came model and TikTok creator Reuben Larkin, presenting a business-core Comme des Garçons shirt paired with two elevated staples: a cashmere Burberry scarf and a monogram Gucci belt that Reuben reckons you could rock as a bag strap. His take? “Fashion’s always about breaking rules!”
Finally, Nima Store founder and “wobble-pose” pioneer Mira Al-Momani selected a verdant Acne maxi dress, a utility Craig Green jacket and a Paco Rabanne 1969 crossbody bag to end things on a glam, space-age note. “Silver is having a moment right now,” she said, “but it’s pretty much a neutral, so although it stands out, it’s easy to wear with everything.”
We just about had time to give away a mega £1000 voucher to one lucky winner, ready to spend on our THE FACE’s Vestiaire Collective edit! Watch the VCTV highlights below now and check out the pieces below…
