Repercussion: a playlist for the new Manchester knees-up
Festivals are back! This September’s event celebrates the soulful side of dance music.

Words: The Face
After a lot of long, dark days, the prospect of dancing together again is getting closer on the horizon. Repercussion – a brand new festival from the team behind The Warehouse Project – has been curated to lift spirits with a line-up which joins the dots between jazz, soul, R&B, house and drum ‘n’ bass.
Expect live sets from London jazzers Moses Boyd and Kamaal Williams, as well as Mancunian neo-soul duo Children of Zeus and Manchester/Berlin-based experimentalists Space Afrika. Warm, feel-good house, techno and disco will be provided by Jayda G, Channel Tres and the one-and-only Moodymann, and you can expect the likes of Mafalda, Floating Points and Virgil Abloh to weave adventurous jazz-infused selections into their DJ sets.
It’s all happening at Mayfield Depot – the massive 10,000 capacity venue in Manchester which also hosts WHP – on 18th September. They’ve even built a new outdoor stage for it too.
Tickets sold out in a flash but the full WHP season will be announced and on-sale from mid June, so keep your eyes locked on The Warehouse Project site. Meanwhile, check out THE FACE’s Repercussion playlist below.
