Burna Boy’s on blistering form, Billie Eilish has stripped it back and Little Mix have enlisted the help of some famous friends.
Burna Boy – Kilometre
Burna Boy’s first single of 2021 is fast-paced, hard-edged and braggadocious. The intensity sounds good on him.
DJ Khaled – Every Chance I Get ft. Lil Baby & Lil Durk
Once again, DJ Khaled’s managed to get half the most famous artists on the planet on his album. And once again, only a handful of the songs are actually good. Every Chance I Get is a highlight, featuring two rappers who are in their prime alongside co-production from the minimalist mastermind Tay Keith.
LSDXOXO – The Devil
There’s been a big buzz around LSDXOXO’s raunchy, sweat-soaked anthem Sick Bitch recently. Ahead of his EP DEDICATED 2 DISRESPECT, the Berlin-based artist is sustaining the hype with another slice of dance-floor destined filth.
Little Mix – Confetti ft. Saweetie
The UK pop four-piece-turned-trio have revived their 2020 single with a new verse from Californian rap star Saweetie, recruiting Drag Race UK stars Bimini Bon-Boulash, A’Whora and Tayce to make cameos in the video.
Wesley Joseph – Ultramarine
The London-via-Walsall artist channels an “eerie and tense” vibe on Ultramarine, the moonlit title track from his forthcoming debut project.
Billie Eilish – Your Power
Billie Eilish’s second album Happier Than Ever is, inevitably, going to be one of the biggest records of 2021. This stripped-back, soul-stirring ballad suggested she’s switching it up from the dark electronics of her debut.
Elle L – Hoping
The soaring, emotive debut single from the London-based musician, environmentalist and creative director.
