Welcome to the LFF, and cinema’s glorious comeback

Drumroll, curtains, trumpets, lion’s roar, bang on the gong and, best of all, the rustle of popcorn: today marks the opening of the 65th BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express.

THE FACE is proud to be Official Media Partner of this year’s event, which runs until 17th October. Over the next 12 days we’ll be bringing you a curated selection of preview features celebrating the best of the fest. Watch out, too, for film tips across our socials, highlighting the movies to look out for during the LFFs run, and in cinemas near you as they move on to wider international release.

For the first time in – how long is it? That’s right, forever – top-tier international talent like Regina King (The Harder They Fall), Kristen Stewart (Spencer), Frances McDormand (The Tragedy of Macbeth), Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Lost Daughter), Kirsten Dunst and Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog), Todd Haynes (The Velvet Underground), Julia Ducournau (Titane), Paolo Sorrentino (The Hand of God) and the mighty cast of Succession will be touching down in London for a, well, succession of premieres, galas and special screenings.

They’ll be joined by home-grown stars like Idris Elba, Jessie Buckley, Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù, Edgar Wright, Josh O’Connor, Craig Roberts, Harris Dickinson, Adeel Akhtar and a galaxy more.

And they’ll also be joined by THE FACE, bringing you the highlights of LFF. Cinema is back, and we couldn’t be happier. See you in the queue for the big bags of Minstrels.
