Rated by The Face: a weekly playlist

Hear DigDat and Aitch join forces, two US stars hop on a Jamaican track and a couple of Brooklyn bands merge into something beautiful.

There’s a daunting amount of music out there and we know it’s hard to keep up. But rather than submitting yourself to an algorithm for new music recommendations, try this lovingly curated playlist that The Face will be updating every week. Check it out below.

DigDat — Ei8ht Mile ft. Aitch

On paper, a DigDat and Aitch collab might not work. Digdat’s a steely-eyed storyteller from London’s drill scene, while Aitch is a happy-go-lucky Manc who’s proud to declare that he doesn’t really fuck with the trap like that”. But they share one important thing in common – they’re both dexterous MCs. Ei8ht Mile’s a banger.

Rvssian - IDKW ft. Swae Lee, Shenseea & Young Thug

Jamaican producer Rvssian and dancehall star Shenseea reference Wayne Wonder and Buju Banton’s old song I Don’t Know Why on this new single, which strives for crossover success with US heavyweights Swae Lee and Young Thug.

LYAM — Origami ft. John Glacier & Shygirl

A taste of London’s left field music scene, we’ve got the exclusive of the music video too.

Pop Smoke — Christopher Walking

NYC’s hottest new rapper might not match the hype of his breakthrough hit Welcome to the Party here, but close listers will appreciate the quality.

P.E. - Soft Dance

The raucous Brooklyn band Pill announced their split recently, but they’ve already teamed up with the duo Eaters for this intriguing new project (P.E. stands for Pill + Eaters”)..
