Rated by The Face: a weekly playlist
Featuring Billie Eilish’s return, Amaarae’s sad girls anthem, and the West Midlands link up of Pa Salieu and M1llionz.
We’re in a crisis, but great music keeps coming out.
To keep up with it all, check out this playlist which we lovingly update every week. Read about last week’s additions here.
Billie Eilish – Therefore I Am
Following the gorgeously downbeat track My Future, this time Billie’s returned to a no-fucks-given attitude and a dark electronic sound for the follow-up. The pretzel-pinching teen star told Zane Lowe that Therefore I Am will be included on a forthcoming second album.
Pa Salieu – Informa ft. M1llionz
A big moment for rap fans in the West Midlands. Birmingham’s M1llionz teams up with Pa Salieu for this steely-eyed highlight from Pa’s Send Them To Coventry mixtape.
Loski – Flavour ft. Stormzy
Loski’s really slipping into the pop thing with ease. Following his Popcaan collab Avengers, the crossover drill artist has teamed up with Big Mike for a cheeky track about their hectic love lives.
Davido – So Crazy ft. Lil Baby
After delaying the album due to the #EndSARS protests, Davido has dropped his album A Better Time, pushing the project with this sunkissed collab with one of Atlanta’s biggest rappers.
Future & Lil Uzi Vert – Plastic
With poignant strings and brass in the production, Plastic is a subtle highlight on Future and Uzi’s joint album Pluto x Baby Pluto.
Rema – Woman
As the track title promises, the young Nigerian star’s new one is about his “appreciation and admiration for all women.”
Amaarae – Sad Girlz Luv Money (ft. Moliy)
Accra-based eccentric Amaarae just released her beautiful new album The Angel You Don’t Know, and this one’s her favourite from the project.
Powfu – when the hospital was my home ft. Rxseboy
The Candian artist is most well known for his Beabadoobee-sampling TikTok hit death bed (coffee for your head). Taken from his forthcoming EP some boring love stories pt. 5, this emotionally raw track is inspired by the 2019 film Five Feet Apart.
GRACEY – 99%
We loved GRACEY’s collab with Aussie pop star Ruel, and we love this big shiny single from her new mini album The Art Of Closure.
Rico Nasty – OHFR?
Produced by Dylan Brady of 100 gecs, OHFR? is Rico in full blown rage mode. Roll on the album.
