Rated by The Face: a weekly playlist
The best contemporary music – updated with new tunes from Stormzy, Bad Bunny, Nasty Cherry and God Colony.
There’s a daunting amount of music out there and we know it’s hard to keep up. But rather than submitting yourself to an algorithm for new music recommendations, try this lovingly curated playlist that The Face will be updating every week. Check it out below.

God Colony – Girls ft. Samirah Raheem
London duo God Colony always collaborate with MCs, and they have an impressive track record. They’ve done stuff with the likes of Mykki Blanco and Bbymutha, and they worked closely with with Flohio in the formative stages of her career. This one features Samirah Raheem, who you’ll know from her viral interview at SlutWalk last year, rapping on a track for the first time ever.
Bad Bunny – Vete
An emotionally raw breakup anthem from the Puerto Rican star.
Stormzy – Own It. ft Ed Sheeran & Burna Boy
At the time of writing, Stormzy’s just backed the Labour Party for the General Election. UK readers, if you haven’t registered, do it right now!
Nasty Cherry – Live Forever
OK, so this one’s been out for a little while now, but we thought we’d include it because a) Nasty Cherry’s new EP just dropped, b) so has their Netflix series and c) it’s a banger.
Take a Daytrip – Lighthouse ft. Rico Nasty, slowthai and IceColdBishop
Take a Daytrip are the guys who produced Sheck Wes’s moshpit-opening anthem Mo Bamba and they’re into the UK scene (they also did a tune with Octavian). Hence why slowthai’s snarling alongside Rico and Californian rapper IceColdBishop here.
