Levi’s and Barbie Ferreira magic up a collab
Fashion news of the week: Plus, Lanvin’s Future collab, Canada Goose’s winter warmers, and a pint with Martine Rose and Stella Artois.
Barbie Ferreira is the latest addition to Levi’s ever-expanding list of collaborators – the denim brand has also partnered with Amelia Dimoldenberg and Emma Chamberlain this year – delivering a punchy capsule based on the actor’s “love for beautiful scenes and creating a story with [her] everyday wardrobe.” But this isn’t your regular everyday wardrobe. The actor and model has taken a more experimental approach with lace-up detailing, reversible tulip hats, and a germ print that’s straight out of the ’90s: “I wanted to play [with] silhouettes that are reminiscent of costuming from my favourite movies,” the ex-Euphoria actor says. “It was important for me that the collection lived somewhere between a dark fairytale and a nostalgic dream.”
The Levi’s® x Barbie Ferreira capsule collection is available now on levi.com, the Levi’s® app and select Levi’s® shops
Lanvin looks to the Future
Lanvin announced a new collaboration with none other than Atlanta’s finest export, Future. The unisex collection, titled Lanvin Lab by Future, is inspired by the rapper’s nickname Pluto, a symbol of “regeneration and transformation to achieve a new perspective”. That all takes shape in a lotta layering and slick tailoring, while leaning into Future’s knack for accessorising, namely in the faux fur hats, dark, angular sunglasses and leather gloves. Elsewhere, there’s an embroidered varsity jacket, pockets-a-plenty, printed dungarees and custard yellow tracksuit bottoms.
The first drop of the Lanvin Lab by Future collection is available now on lanvin.com. The second drop will launch in early 2024
Around the fire with Palace and UGG
Palace and UGG are back for a second outing, this time upping the snug appeal with an expanded kit of sheepskin goods. The Tasman slipper and a pair of mittens have been generously defaced with Palace patches of a cheeky devil, peace sign and a sleepy frog, and there’s also a toasty sheepskin rug in the shape of a P. To really get you in the festive spirit, Palace has made its most wholesome film yet to celebrate the collection, with the skate team’s Lucien Clarke, Dino Da Silva, Lloyd Hodgson and Cece Asembo cosying up in a chalet, firing up the piano, sipping hot toddies and looking oh-so longingly into the distance. A bit like George and Andrew, actually.
Give it to someone special! Palace UGG hits palaceskateboards.com at 11am on 1st Friday.
Canada Goose and Concepts do a head-to-toe collection
Purveyors of all things toasty, Canada Goose announced the launch of its latest collaboration with Boston-based streetwear brand Concepts last week. Made using Canada Goose’s Crofton material (lightweight, water-repellent, wind-resistant, durable ), the collection comes fully-loaded with a vest, puffer, waist pack and, for the first time, puffer boots, all taken up a notch in an iridescent paisley jacquard fabric. If you weren’t already, you’ll be the most huggable person in the room.
The collection is available on canadagoose.com and cncpts.com, and in select Canada Goose and Concepts shops
A pint with Martine Rose and Stella Artois
It was sweltering at Martine Rose’s SS24 show back in June, which was held in a community centre in North London. But to keep things cool during the heatwave ice-cold cans of Stella were handed out to guests. Ahh. That was but a hint for what is now a bonafide collaboration between the much-loved British designer and the Belgian beer brand. Influenced by the spirit of punk, the collection includes an oversized bomber jacket with Rose incorporating beer mat towelling into jacket linings and Stella’s glass bottle caps patchworked all over the front. There’s also a distressed pair of jeans covered in special Stella x Martine patches, an oversized graphic tee and a buttoned shirt that features photography from Rose’s show and an all-over newspaper motif that nods to British tabloid culture. We’ll cheers to that.
