New Gucci, Chanel’s Peak and headbanging with Heaven

Fashion news of the week: After a short hiatus during fashion month, we’re back with the biggest news, campaigns and clothes from Eytys, Christopher Kane and Asics.

Big in beauty: Gucci Guilty and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

This week, Gucci released its latest campaign for fan-favourite perfume Gucci Guilty, alongside a charming short film by photographer Glen Luchford. Featuring A$AP Rocky, Elliot Page and Julia Garner, it shows the superstars frolicking around a rather plush house in sunny California, spritzing themselves generously and having a dance before falling to the floor in a sweet embrace. Lovely.

Also, Chanel announced that the newest face of their iconic Coco Mademoiselle fragrance is none other than Hocus Pocus star Whitney Peak. The actress is already a brand ambassador for Chanel in the US and was a muse for the 22 Handbag campaign that came out last year. And she’s still yet to reach her Peak (sorry, we had to).

Heaven headbangs with Deftones

Heaven is no stranger to a collaboration (see: Wong Kar-wai, Gregg Araki, Kiko Kostadinov) and their latest sees a double whammy link-up with alt-metal band Deftones and streetwear brand Stray Rats. To commemorate the capsule collection, which includes a shove it” pin, printed baggy jeans, ringer tees and prints of the band’s album artworks, Heaven got cult photographers Exactitudes to shoot a campaign of Deftones’ biggest fans. They’ll be running an exhibition dedicated to the band in their Fairfax store, too. Rock on.

The capsule collection will be available on the Heaven website from 3rd March, while the exhibition will run from 3rd March to 4th April in Heaven’s Fairfax store in LA.

An Eytys love affair

Eytys know more than a thing or two when it comes to denim. Over the past few years, the Swedish brand has become the cool kid’s go-to for sexy outerwear and club-ready gear, and each season, Eytys boasts a new line-up of seriously good denim. Now, they’re back with a brand-new campaign – a steamy story of a love triangle shot in Texas – for the Benz jeans, a super laidback take on high-waisted 90s styles.

New shoes from Asics, Patta and Timberland

It’s been a big week for footwear, as Asics revealed their latest collaboration with Kiko Kostadinov, following last year’s sold-out collection from the duo and Hysteric Glamour. This time round, Kiko has reinterpreted the Gel-Quantum Zientzia in dark grey and blue, which looks as out of this world as you’d expect.

Carrying on their 50th birthday celebrations, Timberland has released the Hip Hop Royalty boot, in honour of the subculture that has had a long-standing affinity with the veteran footwear brand.

Meanwhile, Patta have released a new collaboration with Converse, offering a hairy suede take on the One Star Pro, as well as a utility-influenced four-piece clothing collection, featuring a four-leaf clover emblem throughout. Lucky you!

Asics x Kiko Kostandinov will be available at asics.com and in select stores from March 2023. The Patta x Converse four-leaf clover capsule collection is available from 9th March at patta.nl. Timberland’s Hip-Hop Royalty boot is available at timberland.co.uk

Big teeth and bigger muscles for Christopher Kane’s latest campaign

Following Christopher Kane’s hugely enjoyable show at London Fashion Week this month, the Scottish designer has released a wonderfully weird campaign for the SS23 collection he presented last September, shot by THE FACE contributor Sharna Osborne. Alongside a collection of romantic silk skirts, delicate lace detailing and pink pleats (influenced by a forensic study on human anatomy), the campaign features huge gnashers and a lotta muscles. Take a bite.
