It was only a matter of time before Palace shook hands with speed – the motorised kind, obviously. The London skate brand has long-established a knack for remixing the best in fashion, art, music and even booze, but Palace x Mercedes-AMG is their latest and most adventurous collaboration to date.
With a (really good) collection in the bank, the main event is the race car that Palace designed, which will premiere at the A.D.A.C Total 24 HRS Race on Germany’s legendary Nürburgring racetrack next month. In suitable wayward style, it’s loud, proud and every bit as nutty as the fan favourite skate brand fan, with a pissed off tiger on the bonnet, neon orange wing mirrors and slick purple detailing. Go on.
“We love working with the best in their field and AMG are exactly that,” says Palace on the collaboration. “We are so proud to be racing a car in such a truly great motorsport institution as The A.D.A.C Total 24hrs Race.”
On sale next Friday, the accompanying capsule collection is chaotic. Inspired by the energy of endurance racing and the iconography of AMG, technical Gore-Tex jackets and trousers are super functional. So too is the leather driving jacket that has the Palace x AMG crest plastered on the back, modelled by Scouse skateboarder Charlie Birch for the campaign.
Throw in some branded T‑shirts, soft hoodies, sharp polos, sexy sweatshirts and a luxury leather tote (oooh err!), and you’ve got yourself yet another banging Palace collaboration fit for the tracks. Or ramps. Or pub. Wherever!
Get it while it’s hot.
PalaceAMG is available at Palace stores and online on Friday 4th June, 11am BST
