Rated by The Face: a weekly playlist

The best contemporary music – updated weekly.

There’s a daunting amount of music out there and we know it’s hard to keep up. But rather submitting yourself to an algorithm for new music recommendations, try this lovingly curated playlist that The Face is updating every week.

Check out the playlist below, and read about last week’s additions here.

Blood Orange – Gold Teeth ft. Project Pat, Gangsta Boo & Tinashe

Dev Hynes reunites with collaborators Tinashe and Project Pat – and this time Pat is joined fellow Memphis rap veteran Gangsta Boo. Dev takes a backseat vocally, but this is unmistakably a Blood Orange record.

Key! – Why

Key! has been doing his thing for a while now, but the Atlanta rapper had a second wind with last year’s excellent 777 LP. Taken from recent mixtape So Emotional, Why demonstrates the full powers of Key!’s singing voice.

Ed Sheeran – Antisocial ft. Travis Scott

Sheeran has a lot of haters, but there’s no arguing with the guest features on his new album No.6 Collaborations Project, and there’s probably nothing they can do to stop Antisocial becoming a massive hit.

Billie Eilish – Bad Guy (remix) ft. Justin Bieber

Once a teenage superstar himself, at 25-years-old Biebs is now absolutely ancient. Proving he’s still down with the kids, he’s hopped on Eilish’s slick fan favourite.

Yuna – Castaway ft. Tyler, the Creator

Malaysian artist Yuna crafted a summer single so gorgeous it persuaded neosoul nerd Tyler, the Creator to chip in with a verse.

Greentea Peng – Downers

The London singer puts a subtly psychedelic twist on R&B. Her new one is a tune for us hedonistic youths searching to feel nothing but who actually feel everything.”

dvsn – Miss Me

One of the two new tracks the OVO-signed R&B duo have dropped – this one shimmers with pretty production.

Mall Grab – Sleepless

Of his new material, Aussie DJ/producer Mall Grab said he wanted to make some shit that bangs in a big or small room.” This truly evil trance track should do it.

yeule – Pretty Bones

New single from London-via-Singapore singer/producer Nat Ćmiel. Airy synths and vocals are layered over each other to build something weird and beautiful.

HTRK – You Know How To Make Me Happy

Seductive, deeply melancholic vibes from the cult Melbourne act HTRK (it’s pronounced Hate Rock” btw) who are about to drop their first LP in five years.
