SiR – Hair Down ft. Kendrick Lamar
Californian singer SiR has turned heads with this new one thanks to a guest verse from Top Dawg labelmate Kendrick Lamar, but the tune’s so good that it would have stood up as a single without Kenny’s slippery raps. A promising sign for SiR’s forthcoming album Chasing Summer.
Aitch – Taste (Make it Shake)
The cheeky Mancunian MC just reached the No.8 spot in the UK singles chart with this club-friendly banger. Legend.
Megan Thee Stallion – Hot Girl Summer ft. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign
Megan’s delivered an official anthem to soundtrack the Hot Girl Summer before the weather turns grim again, and she’s enlisted Nicki – a classy move.
Niska – Du lundi au lundi
Hard-hitting, catchy-as-hell rap music from the Parisian suburbs. You might not be familiar with Niska yet, but in France, he’s massive.
SL – Gigantalous
UK rapper SL first caught attention for a sound dubbed ‘tropical drill’ – a slightly more melodic take on the typically morose-sounding genre. For his new single, he’s spitting deadpan raps over a beat produced by Two Inch Punch, who’s worked with the likes of Years & Years, Kali Uchis and Rex Orange County.
Marika Hackman – Hand Solo
There are a number of songs on Hackman’s new album Any Human Friend which explore sex with wit and unflinching detail. You can probably guess what Hand Solo is about.
Jay Som – Nighttime Drive
The third song to be released from Jay Som’s probably-going-to-be-really-good new album Anak Ko, which drops 23 August.
