Heaven-sent is one way to describe Heaven and Dilara Findikoglu’s latest link-up. In the brand’s latest campaign, the girl-next-door aesthetic that Gigi normally sticks to while pounding the cobbled pavements of Tribeca was ditched in favour of barely-there leather shorts with studded belts, a shirt torn within an inch of its life, lots of black kohl liner and a pair of Kiki boots. Duh. Anything for Marc.
Scrolling through the ’gram, I did a double-take when I saw the usually bright-eyed and preppy model all vamped up for Marc Jacobs’ subsidiary line. Downright sexy and gritty, the collection is packed with bits that will inevitably sell out: the corseted mini mini-skirt, dress and safety pin bikini are all delicious. But it’s the searing red bikini set made up of a waist-snatching corset and frilly bottoms that I’ll be making a beeline for. I dropped Emma Hope Allwood a line sharpish to say I’d be visiting the Brewer Street shop IMMEDIATELY – all caps necessary – after seeing her sporting the set. See you there.

Celine’s coming for the beauty world
Celine now has skin in the game – the beauty game, that is. Celine Beauté has officially dropped its inaugural campaign starring American actor Ever Anderson (Resident Evil, Black Widow). And she’s the offspring of supermodel and actor Milla Jovovich. Chic.
Wearing Rouge Triomphe (due to be released on 30th August), a red-lipped, bare-faced Ever seduces the camera. Hedi Slimane, the house’s creative director, has been instrumental in developing the beauty line, directing the campaign along with developing silhouettes for all the beauty trinkets.
Get your hands on the first-ever shade of Le Rouge Celine Lipstick, Rouge Triomphe, on 30th August in Harrods and globally in October.
McQueen Resort SS25 has landed
Hoof boots, roll neck jumpers that fall down the body and the renowned skull motif all made a comeback at Seán McGirr’s debut show as Alexander McQueen’s creative director in February. As with any storied house, especially one with a late, beloved designer, tensions were high in the lead-up to the show as the public awaited McGirr’s debut. Now, to say that people were a little confused by the collection would be an understatement, but judging by the resort SS25 line, McGirr is quickly going to make people eat their words. Boasting 32 looks, his resort collection is filled with bling-tastic tops and dresses, extended shirt collars, jeans pockets adorned with jewellery, sumptuous leather trousers with an exposed zip (very raunchy), and nipped-in blazers. Roll on September Fashion Week.
David Koma is off to Blumarine
Can we go one week without a creative director being appointed or exiting a brand? No, it seems. With vacant positions come rumours and meltdowns, which fashion is tired of, according to the New York Times’ Vanessa Freidman. But there’s now one less position to gossip about, as Blumarine’s creative director role has been filled by *drumroll* Georgian designer David Koma. The London-based designer started his brand in 2009 and has been a mainstay on the London Fashion Week schedule since its inception. Koma is known for his love of embellishment, flattering mini dresses and feminine designs – basically, he knows what women want. It’ll be interesting to see how Koma makes a mark on Blumarine, following his predecessor Nicola Brognano’s Y2K reboot. Don’t get rid of your Noughties Britney outfit inspo pics just yet.
Stefan Cooke subvert autumn classics with Solid Homme
Stefan Cooke continues to raise the bar for young designers in fashion. When the design duo – Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt – aren’t working on reimagining upcycled Mulberry bags, they’re designing garments that Kendrick Lamar and Emma Corrin flock to. Now, the pair are back with a collab with Seoul brand Solid Homme that’ll be on the backs of fashion editors outside crowded East London pubs soon. Cooke and Burt jammed to tracks Wooden Box by Factory Floor, These New Puritans’ Drum Courts and Redlights by Salem while fashioning the collection, and plucked inspiration from East Coast states New York and Maine. T‑shirts have been reworked to replicate American football jerseys, leather jackets in black and ochre colourways are awash with studs, and there’s even some relaxed denim thrown in for good measure. Phwoar.
Ferragamo heads back to its roots
Maximilian Davis x Juergen Teller? That’s a sure way to get tongues wagging. Davis staged his latest campaign in Florence, Italy, the home of the brand. Using mundane everyday spots as his catwalk, full looks were shot against the plain brick walls of cafes and shops. Davis harked back to the beginnings of the brand by visiting the Palazzo Spini Feroni, the 13th-century building that Salvatore Ferragamo transformed into the brand’s headquarters in the 1930s. A fish scale-like dress shines against renaissance paintings, ballet pumps with gold buckles glimmer in the sunlight and feather heels get their moment in the spotlight courtesy of Teller’s stripped-back style.
New Balance and Joe Freshgoods keep the Olympic fire burning
And finally, as fashion’s capital city plays host to this year’s Olympics, New Balance went for gold with the latest in a string of sell-out collabs, this time with Chicago’s most-hyped streetwear designer Joe Freshgoods. The Chicago local kicked off with an exhibition titled A Friend Named Cousin at Parisian gallery Les filles du calvaire. Showcasing the work of artists from Europe and the US – including Goldie Williams, Jewel Ham, Jahlil Nzinga, Banga Minthe, RELLO and London local Teoni Hinds (who showed a portrait of fellow artist Slawn) – the exhibition explored the importance of family ties and cultivating community around the globe. Outside, devotees queued around the block to get their hands on the JFG x NB 990v6 capsule collection, which included trainers and games-ready sportswear in Paris Red and Prom Blue – dual nods to the host city and Freshgoods’ hometown. International fans, fear not: the collection will be available globally from 8th August. Bryony Stone
