Everything that went down at The Face Space in London
We celebrated the wild imaginations of Tyler, the Creator and Lava La Rue at a DIY spot in Brixton Village.
Tyler meets the fans
Tyler’s team and Converse invited down a group of fans to meet the man himself and get their hands on an exclusive pair of Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* Chuck 70 Flames.
If you know Tyler’s fanbase, you might have an idea of how this went down. In the end he hung around for around for nearly an hour, chatting with fans about everything from the Peckham incident, to the pancakes at The Breakfast Club. He hates the pancakes. We think he likes the mag though.
The Face Space opens for the second day
At first we were trying to keep the whole thing kind of under wraps to avoid a Peckham-style situation, but Tyler then tweeted our address. A lot of people showed up and we sold a lot of magazines. Thanks Tyler!
Tyler pre-gig hangout
In anticipation of Tyler’s second Brixton show, we used The Face Space to throw a little pre-party, with DJ sets from Ailbhe Máiréad, Sandra Omari from Reprezent and The Face’s own, Kemar.
Lava gets in the pit
We sent Lava La Rue to cover Tyler’s show for The Face, with photographer Daniela K Monteiro.
Tyler plays Brixton
We handed the reigns over to Lava La Rue to takeover the space and celebrate the release of her Stitches mixtape. With her projections, illustrations, merch and a“bedroom” installation, it felt like real house party vibes.
Lava sits down with Pam Hogg
Hosted by journalist Kieran Yates, Lava sat down with the legendary fashion designer Pam Hogg to discuss fashion, identity and the punk mentality that they both share.
Lava and her crew hosted a second night off partying, to sign things off in style.
